Lights out at half ten, and nobody sleeps before midnight
The evening
Torch trail at eight, hot chocolate at nine, lights out at half past ten. Breakfast at half seven whether or not anybody slept.
What to bring
A roll mat and a sleeping bag. The floor is wooden and hard, and an airbed genuinely helps if you have one.
Who it suits
Children of about seven to eleven with one adult each. Younger children find the dark and the strangeness harder than expected.
