Increase your step rate and most other problems fix themselves
The one change
Count your steps for thirty seconds and double it. If it is under about 165, aim to raise it five percent over a fortnight.
Why it works
A shorter step lands the foot nearer under the body, which reduces braking force and the impact that goes with it. Nothing else needs thinking about.
How to do it
Run to a metronome or a track at the right tempo for one run a week. It transfers to the others within a month without conscious effort.
