Lift share

A board on the wall, so nobody has to ask a person directly

People will not ask a neighbour for a lift and will happily take one offered on a board. Removing the direct ask is the whole design of the scheme.

How it works

A board in the shop porch. Drivers put up where and when they are going; anybody takes a card and phones. No app and no membership.

The money

Nothing changes hands. Several drivers have said an offer of petrol money makes it feel like a transaction and they would rather not.

What is needed

More drivers on the Thursday hospital run, which is the request that comes up most often and is hardest to fill.
