A change

Monthly from January, because weekly was producing thin work

Weekly meant publishing whatever was ready rather than whatever was worth publishing. Monthly means four times fewer pieces and roughly the same total that is worth reading.

Why

Weekly deadlines meant a third of pieces were published before they were understood. Those are the ones I would now delete if I deleted things.

What changes

One long piece a month instead of four short ones. The archive stays, the price of supporting stays the same, and the format is unchanged.

What I will not do

Pad the monthly issue to justify the wait. If a month produces a short letter it will be a short letter.

If monthly is not what you signed up for, leaving is entirely reasonable and takes one tap.
