Fruit trees planted now crop properly around 2033. Several of the people planting them will not be here for it, and everybody involved knows that.

The planting

Forty trees on the recreation ground field, on the last Saturday in November. About three hours and roughly thirty people.

The varieties

Twelve local varieties, four of which are on the endangered list. That choice is deliberate and is the reason for the grant.

Afterwards

Watering through the first two summers, which is the part projects like this fail at. That rota is the real commitment.
