Storytelling

Told rather than read, and firmly for adults

Storytelling gets confused with reading aloud and with children's entertainment. This is neither: three tellers, no scripts, and an adult audience.

What happens

Three tellers, about twenty-five minutes each, working from memory rather than a text. Two intervals and out by half ten.

What it is not

Not a reading and not for children. Some of the material is dark and none of it is simplified.

The room

Forty people around a fire in a low room. It is warm, close, and the back row is about four metres from the teller.
