You will probably capsize, and that is part of the session

Capsizing is the thing everybody worries about and the thing everybody does. We practise it deliberately in the first twenty minutes so it stops being frightening.

The session

Two hours in a stable two-person dinghy with an instructor. Deliberate capsize practice in the first twenty minutes.

The water

About a metre deep at the practice area, and around fifteen degrees in summer. Cold at first and fine after a minute.

What to bring

A complete change of clothes including underwear, and a towel. Buoyancy aids and wetsuits are provided.
