Packaging change

Ninety percent less plastic, and slightly more creasing

The rigid plastic insert kept things flat. Removing it removes about forty grams of plastic per order and adds a few creases.

What changed

The moulded insert has gone, replaced with folded paper. Plastic per order drops from forty-four grams to four.

What got worse

Items arrive with more fold creases. They hang out within a day but the first impression is less crisp.

What we considered

A rigid paper insert would have solved it and doubled the packaging weight. We judged the creases the better trade.

If the creasing bothers you, say so. We will revisit this if enough people do; it was a judgement rather than a principle.
