Harvest

Everything brought goes to the food bank on Monday morning

Harvest displays used to be decorative. This one is a collection, and the food bank has told us exactly what is useful and what is not.

What is useful

Tinned meat and fish, UHT milk, tinned fruit, and toiletries. Those four are what the food bank runs short of every autumn.

What is not

Fresh produce, anything past its date, and anything needing a great deal of cooking. It is thrown away rather than used.

The service

Forty minutes, informal, and children are noisy in it by design. Nobody minds and nobody is asked to take anybody out.

See what to bringGive money instead
The food bank buys more efficiently than we can. A pound given goes further than a pound of tins and both are welcome.
