Support group

Nobody goes round the room, and nobody has to say anything

The thing that stops people coming is imagining being asked to speak about it in front of strangers. That does not happen here and never has.

What happens

About ten people, two hours, tea. People talk when they want to. Several regulars have been coming for a year and rarely say much.

How long after

Whenever. Some people come the month after and some come three years later. Both are entirely usual and neither is late.

Who runs it

Two trained volunteers who have both been bereaved themselves. It is peer support rather than counselling and it does not pretend otherwise.

You can email a question without giving your name. Several people do that before coming.
