New evidence. The old pieces are linked.

Again

The third piece on the same field, and this one has documents

Returning to a subject looks like running out of material. In this case the estate papers surfaced in March and they answer the question both previous pieces left open.

What the first two said

2021 speculated, and 2023 narrowed it to two possibilities. Both are linked and both are honest about being speculation.

What is new

The estate accounts, which record the transaction directly. The answer is the less interesting of the two possibilities, which is usually how it goes.

Why three pieces

Because publishing the speculation is what caused a reader to look for the accounts. That is an argument for publishing uncertainty rather than sitting on it.

Both earlier pieces stay up unedited with a note pointing forward to this one.
