A visit

### Two people, one machine, and a water right dating from 1298

The paper this is printed on comes from a mill of two people. The most interesting thing there turned out to be a medieval water right that still governs the process.

#### The mill

Two people, one cylinder machine from 1911, and about four tonnes a year. That is a very small amount of paper by any measure.

#### The water

A right to abstract dating from 1298, which limits volume and therefore output. The machine could run faster and the licence does not allow it.

#### What I paid

The same as anybody. This was not a sponsored visit, nothing was given to me, and I bought the paper for this issue at list price.
