A decision

### Four thousand pounds declined, and the offer named

Publications say they decline sponsorship and never say from whom or for how much. Both are below, because a principle with no figures attached is decorative.

#### The offer

Four thousand pounds a year for a logo in the footer and no editorial involvement. A fair offer, honestly made, and about a third of the annual income.

#### Why not

Because they are an active applicant in three planning cases I am likely to write about. That would compromise the work whether or not it changed it.

#### What it means

The income gap stays. If reader support does not cover it I will say so rather than quietly accepting a similar offer later.
