Guide

### One pass with a wet finger, and never a second

Every messy silicone joint has been smoothed twice. The second pass drags the surface that has already started to skin and ruins the whole run.

#### Preparation

Remove the old sealant completely and let the joint dry fully. Silicone will not stick to old silicone and a damp joint fails in months.

#### The bead

Cut the nozzle at forty-five degrees to the width you want. Move steadily; the commonest fault is going too slowly and laying too much.

#### One pass

Wet finger with soapy water, one continuous pass, and stop. Going back over it drags the skin and there is no recovering from that.
