New release

### Twenty-six pounds, and the pressing plant sets most of it

Vinyl prices look arbitrary and are not. A short run at a small plant costs about eleven pounds a disc before anything else happens.

#### What it costs to make

Eleven pounds a disc at three hundred copies, including the lacquer and the sleeve. At a thousand it would be about six.

#### Why not press a thousand

Because we would sell about three hundred and store seven hundred for a decade. That is a worse outcome than a higher price.

#### What the artist gets

Nine pounds a copy. That is unusually high and is possible because we do not carry a warehouse or a sales team.
