Pond restoration

### Four months of mud and machinery, then a considerable improvement

Restoration looks like destruction while it is happening. Telling people in advance is the difference between support and a stream of complaints in February.

#### What will happen

The pond is drained, silt removed by machine, and the margins reprofiled. Four weeks of works and about three months of bare mud afterwards.

#### Why it is needed

It has silted to about thirty centimetres and dries every August. Newts have not bred successfully in it since 2019.

#### What it will look like

Bad until June, then better than at any point in thirty years. Photographs of a comparable restoration are on the page.
