Dawn walk

### Twenty past five, because the half hour before sunrise is the point

Everybody wants to arrive at sunrise. The thirty minutes before it, when the light changes and the birds start, is what the walk is actually for.

#### The timing

Meet at 05:20, walk for forty minutes, and be on the ridge for 06:04. Back at the cars by seven.

#### What to bring

A torch for the first twenty minutes, warm layers, and a flask if you have one. It is colder than the forecast suggests.

#### The terrain

A gradual climb of about eighty metres on a field path. Uneven in two places and slippery if it has rained.
