Survey

### Forty are already unreadable, and the rest have perhaps thirty years

Limestone weathers and lettering disappears. Photographing and transcribing every legible stone now preserves what will otherwise be gone within a generation.

#### What we do

Photograph, transcribe, and locate every stone. About four hundred of them, at maybe fifteen a session, on Saturday mornings.

#### The wildlife half

The same survey records lichens, of which there are about sixty species here including two nationally scarce ones. Both surveys share the same visits.

#### What is needed

Anybody who can read difficult lettering in raking light, and one person who would learn lichen identification, which takes a season.
