Volunteers needed

### Four distinct jobs, and plenty of people never go near a customer

Charity shop volunteering is assumed to mean serving. Three of the four roles involve no customer contact at all, which suits a good number of people better.

#### The four roles

Sorting donations in the back, steaming and hanging, dressing the window, and the till. Only the last involves customers.

#### The commitment

One three-hour shift a week, or a fortnight, or whatever suits. Several volunteers do one shift a month and that is genuinely useful.

#### What is needed most

Sorting, which is the least visible and the one everything else depends on. Currently two people cover it and both want a holiday.
