Where the stone for the 1340 tower came from. There is no quarry within twenty miles and the geology does not match any of them.

#### What I have ruled out

Four quarries, by petrology. The stone matches none of them and matches nothing in the county record.

#### What I have not tried

Comparison with monastic sources outside the county, which would need somebody with access I do not have. That is the ask.
